Steve Peat and Nathan Rennie (Santa Cruz, SRAM,Rockshox) finished 2nd and 5th respectively in thedownhill qualifying race at the UCI World Cup Downhillseason opener in Vigo, Spain. Mick Hannah wins thequalifier with Fabien Barel 3rd, and Cedric Gracia4th. The downhill qualifier was held today and thefinal will be held tomorrow. The schedule change willaccommodate a live television broadcast of thedownhill event on Sunday.

Peaty had this to say about the qualifying race:“Last year the course was pretty new, so it was alittle bit easier than it is this year. A lot ofpeople have been riding it so it’s got beat up a lot. There’s a lot of nasty holes and rocks coming out allthe way down the track, so it’s a little bit harder tocarry speed. There’s a lot more things to ping offand slow your momentum.

The qualifier went pretty good. I rode a couple ofsections not too good, so I was pretty surprised tofinish where I was when I came down in second place.I carried speed pretty good. I can do that on thiskind of a track. My V-10 was hooking up really good, and I got a good combination of Kenda tires on there(Nevegal 2.5 front, Nevegal 2.35 rear). Everything isgoing sweet on the Syndicate team.”

Rennie also showed surprise in the outcome of his runand says, “My qualifying run today was a little bitunexpected. I think I did pretty well. I was alittle bit sketchy as the track seems to be prettyblown out and you always seem to be trying to correctyourself so you never really feel that you’re goingthat fast. There are a lot of different lines andlots of stumps everywhere and rocks. It’s hard toreally link everything together. It’s going to be adifficult track to race on. Any little mistake couldput you back. There are a few crucial sections and thedifferent lines are really close together, time-wise.But I just had a smooth run and pretty much rode themain line and it worked out okay. I qualified 5th,and I’ve definitely got a few more beans to becooked.”

    There was this guy see.
He wasn’t very bright and he reached his adult life without ever having learned “the facts”.
Somehow, it gets to be his wedding day.
While he is walking down the isle, his father tugs his sleeve and says,

“Son, when you get to the hotel room…Call me”

Hours later he gets to the hotel room with his beautiful blushing bride and he calls his father,

“Dad, we are the hotel, what do I do?”

“O.K. Son, listen up, take off your clothes and get in the bed, then she should take off her clothes and get in the bed, if not help her. Then either way, ah, call me”

    A few moments later…

“Dad we took off our clothes and we are in the bed, what do I do?”

O.K. Son, listen up. Move real close to her and she should move real close to you, and then… Ah, call me.”

    A few moments later…

“DAD! WE TOOK OFF OUR CLOTHES, GOT IN THE BED AND MOVED REAL CLOSE, WHAT DO I DO???”

“O.K. Son, Listen up, this is the most important part. Stick the long part of your body into the place where she goes to the bathroom.”

    A few moments later…

“Dad, I’ve got my foot in the toilet, what do I do?”
